DECISION OF THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE No 180/2024

amending Protocol 31 to the EEA Agreement, on cooperation in specific fields outside the four freedoms [2024/2550]

THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE,

Having regard to the Agreement on the European Economic Area (“the EEA Agreement”), and in particular Articles 86 and 98 thereof,

Whereas:

(1) It is appropriate to extend the cooperation of the Contracting Parties to the EEA Agreement to include Regulation (EU) 2022/2370 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 23 November 2022 amending Regulation (EC) No 851/2004 establishing a European centre for disease prevention and control ( 1 ) .

(2) Protocol 31 to the EEA Agreement should therefore be amended in order to allow for this extended cooperation to take place,

HAS ADOPTED THIS DECISION:

Article 1

The following is added in the indent (Regulation (EC) No 851/2004 of the European Parliament and of the Council) of point (a) of Article 16(4) of Protocol 31 of the Agreement:

‘, as amended by:

— 32022 R 2370 : Regulation (EU) 2022/2370 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 23 November 2022 ( OJ L 314, 6.12.2022, p. 1 ).’

Article 2

This Decision shall enter into force on the day following the last notification under Article 103(1) of the EEA Agreement ( *1 ) .

Article 3

This Decision shall be published in the EEA Section of, and in the EEA Supplement to, the Official Journal of the European Union .
