DECISION OF THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE No 47/2024

amending Annex I (Veterinary and phytosanitary matters) to the EEA Agreement [2024/1568]

THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE,

Having regard to the Agreement on the European Economic Area (“the EEA Agreement”), and in particular Article 98 thereof,

Whereas:

(1) Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2023/2583 of 20 November 2023 concerning the authorisation of L-isoleucine produced by Corynebacterium glutamicum KCCM 80185 as a feed additive for all animal species ( 1 ) is to be incorporated into the EEA Agreement.

(2) Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2023/2594 of 21 November 2023 concerning the denial of the renewal of the authorisation of a preparation of robenidine hydrochloride (Cycostat 66G) as a feed additive for rabbits for breeding and rabbits for fattening (holder of authorisation: Zoetis Belgium S.A.) and repealing Implementing Regulation (EU) No 532/2011 ( 2 ) is to be incorporated into the EEA Agreement.

(3) Implementing Regulation (EU) 2023/2594 repeals Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) No 532/2011 ( 3 ) , which is incorporated into the EEA Agreement and which is consequently to be repealed under the EEA Agreement.

(4) This Decision concerns legislation regarding feedingstuffs. Legislation regarding feedingstuffs shall not apply to Liechtenstein as long as the application of the Agreement between the European Community and the Swiss Confederation on trade in agricultural products is extended to Liechtenstein, as specified in the sectoral adaptations to Annex I to the EEA Agreement. This Decision is therefore not to apply to Liechtenstein.

(5) Annex I to the EEA Agreement should therefore be amended accordingly,

HAS ADOPTED THIS DECISION:

Article 1

Chapter II of Annex I to the EEA Agreement shall be amended as follows:

The following points are inserted after point 524 (Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2023/1455):

32023 R 2594 : Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2023/2594 of 21 November 2023 concerning the denial of the renewal of the authorisation of a preparation of robenidine hydrochloride (Cycostat 66G) as a feed additive for rabbits for breeding and rabbits for fattening (holder of authorisation: Zoetis Belgium S.A.) and repealing Implementing Regulation (EU) No 532/2011 ( OJ L, 2023/2594, 22.11.2023 ).’

The text of point 2zi (Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) No 532/2011), the 11 th indent to point 1k (Commission Regulation (EC) No 2430/1999) and the 3 rd indent to point 1zzd (Commission Regulation (EC) No 1800/2004) are deleted.

Article 2

The texts of Implementing Regulations (EU) 2023/2583 and (EU) 2023/2594 in the Icelandic and Norwegian languages, to be published in the EEA Supplement to the Official Journal of the European Union , shall be authentic.

Article 3

This Decision shall enter into force on 16 March 2024, provided that all the notifications under Article 103(1) of the EEA Agreement have been made ( *1 ) .

Article 4

This Decision shall be published in the EEA Section of, and in the EEA Supplement to, the Official Journal of the European Union .
