COUNCIL DECISION (EU) 2023/2899

appointing two members of the Court of Auditors

THE COUNCIL OF THE EUROPEAN UNION,

Having regard to the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union, and in particular Article 286(2) thereof,

Having regard to the proposals by the Kingdom of Sweden and the Portuguese Republic,

Having regard to the opinions of the European Parliament (1),

Whereas:

(1) The term of office of Ms EVA LINDSTRÖM is due to expire on 29 February 2024. The Kingdom of Sweden has proposed that Mr Hans LINDBLAD be appointed as a member of the Court of Auditors from 1 June 2024.

(2) Mr João FIGUEIREDO passed away on 30 June 2021. His term of office was due to expire on 29 February 2024. The Portuguese Republic has proposed that Mr João LEÃO be appointed as a member of the Court of Auditors on the vacant post from 1 March 2024.

(3) Two members should therefore be appointed to the Court of Auditors,

HAS ADOPTED THIS DECISION:

Article 1

The following are hereby appointed members of the Court of Auditors:

— Mr Hans LINDBLAD, for the period from 1 June 2024 to 31 May 2030,

— Mr João LEÃO, for the period from 1 March 2024 to 28 February 2030.

Article 2

This Decision shall enter into force on the date of its adoption.
