DECISION OF THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE No 110/2020

amending Annex XVIII (Health and safety at work, labour law, and equal treatment for men and women) to the EEA Agreement [2023/1370]

THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE,

Having regard to the Agreement on the European Economic Area (“the EEA Agreement”), and in particular Article 98 thereof,

Whereas:

(1) Directive (EU) 2019/130 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 16 January 2019 amending Directive 2004/37/EC on the protection of workers from the risks related to exposure to carcinogens or mutagens at work ( 1 ) is to be incorporated into the EEA Agreement.

(2) Directive (EU) 2019/983 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 5 June 2019 amending Directive 2004/37/EC on the protection of workers from the risks related to exposure to carcinogens or mutagens at work ( 2 ) is to be incorporated into the EEA Agreement.

(3) Annex XVIII to the EEA Agreement should therefore be amended accordingly,

HAS ADOPTED THIS DECISION:

Article 1

The following indents are added in point 14a (Directive 2004/37/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council) of Annex XVIII to the EEA Agreement:

— 32019 L 0983 : Directive (EU) 2019/983 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 5 June 2019 ( OJ L 164, 20.6.2019, p. 23 ).’

Article 2

The texts of Directives (EU) 2019/130 and (EU) 2019/983 in the Icelandic and Norwegian languages, to be published in the EEA Supplement to the Official Journal of the European Union , shall be authentic.

Article 3

This Decision shall enter into force on 15 July 2020, provided that all the notifications under Article 103(1) of the EEA Agreement have been made ( *1 ) .

Article 4

This Decision shall be published in the EEA Section of, and in the EEA Supplement to, the Official Journal of the European Union .
