DECISION OF THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE No 19/2021

amending Annex II (Technical regulations, standards, testing and certification) to the EEA Agreement [2024/86]

THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE,

Having regard to the Agreement on the European Economic Area (“the EEA Agreement”), and in particular Article 98 thereof,

Whereas:

(1) Commission Regulation (EU) 2019/1892 of 31 October 2019 amending Regulation (EU) No 1230/2012 as regards type-approval requirements for certain motor vehicles fitted with elongated cabs and for aerodynamic devices and equipment for motor vehicles and their trailers ( 1 ) is to be incorporated into the EEA Agreement.

(2) Commission Regulation (EU) 2019/1939 of 7 November 2019 amending Regulation (EU) No 582/2011 as regards Auxiliary Emission Strategies (AES), access to vehicle OBD information and vehicle repair and maintenance information, measurement of emissions during cold engine start periods and use of portable emissions measurement systems (PEMS) to measure particle numbers, with respect to heavy duty vehicles ( 2 ) is to be incorporated into the EEA Agreement.

(3) Annex II to the EEA Agreement should therefore be amended accordingly,

HAS ADOPTED THIS DECISION:

Article 1

Chapter I of Annex II to the EEA Agreement shall be amended as follows:

The following indent is added in point 45zzl (Commission Regulation (EU) No 582/2011):

‘—

32019 R 1939 : Commission Regulation (EU) 2019/1939 of 7 November 2019 ( OJ L 303, 25.11.2019, p. 1 ).’

The following indent is added in point 45zzu (Commission Regulation (EU) No 1230/2012):

‘—

32019 R 1892 : Commission Regulation (EU) 2019/1892 of 31 October 2019 ( OJ L 291, 12.11.2019, p. 17 ).’

Article 2

The texts of Regulations (EU) 2019/1892 and (EU) 2019/1939 in the Icelandic and Norwegian languages, to be published in the EEA Supplement to the Official Journal of the European Union , shall be authentic.

Article 3

This Decision shall enter into force on 6 February 2021, provided that all the notifications under Article 103(1) of the EEA Agreement have been made ( *1 ) .

Article 4

This Decision shall be published in the EEA Section of, and in the EEA Supplement to, the Official Journal of the European Union .
