DECISION OF THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE No 181/2021

amending Annex XX (Environment) to the EEA Agreement [2024/173]

THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE,

Having regard to the Agreement on the European Economic Area (“the EEA Agreement”), and in particular Article 98 thereof,

Whereas:

(1) Commission Recommendation (EU) 2017/948 of 31 May 2017 on the use of fuel consumption and CO 2 emission values type-approved and measured in accordance with the World Harmonised Light Vehicles Test Procedure when making information available for consumers pursuant to Directive 1999/94/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council ( 1 ) is to be incorporated into the EEA Agreement.

(2) Annex XX to the EEA Agreement should therefore be amended accordingly,

HAS ADOPTED THIS DECISION:

Article 1

The following point is inserted after point 21ac (Directive 1999/94/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council) of Annex XX to the EEA Agreement:

‘21aca.

32017 H 0948 : Commission Recommendation (EU) 2017/948 of 31 May 2017 on the use of fuel consumption and CO 2 emission values type-approved and measured in accordance with the World Harmonised Light Vehicles Test Procedure when making information available for consumers pursuant to Directive 1999/94/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council ( OJ L 142, 2.6.2017, p. 100 ).’

Article 2

The text of Recommendation (EU) 2017/948 in the Icelandic and Norwegian languages, to be published in the EEA Supplement to the Official Journal of the European Union , shall be authentic.

Article 3

This Decision shall enter into force on 12 June 2021, provided that all the notifications under Article 103(1) of the EEA Agreement have been made ( *1 ) .

Article 4

This Decision shall be published in the EEA Section of, and in the EEA Supplement to, the Official Journal of the European Union .
