DECISION OF THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE No 241/2021

amending Annex V (Free movement of workers) and Annex VIII (Right of establishment) to the EEA Agreement [2024/504]

THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE,

Having regard to the Agreement on the European Economic Area (“the EEA Agreement”), and in particular Article 98 thereof,

Whereas:

(1) Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2021/1272 of 30 July 2021 establishing the equivalence, for the purpose of facilitating the right of free movement within the Union, of COVID-19 certificates issued by the Vatican City State to the certificates issued in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2021/953 of the European Parliament and of the Council ( 1 ) is to be incorporated into the EEA Agreement.

(2) Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2021/1273 of 30 July 2021 establishing the equivalence, for the purpose of facilitating the right of free movement within the Union, of COVID-19 certificates issued by San Marino to the certificates issued in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2021/953 of the European Parliament and of the Council ( 2 ) is to be incorporated into the EEA Agreement.

(3) Annexes V and VIII to the EEA Agreement should therefore be amended accordingly,

HAS ADOPTED THIS DECISION:

Article 1

The following points are inserted after point 10b (Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2021/1126) of Annex V to the EEA Agreement:

‘10c.

32021 D 1272 : Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2021/1272 of 30 July 2021 establishing the equivalence, for the purpose of facilitating the right of free movement within the Union, of COVID-19 certificates issued by the Vatican City State to the certificates issued in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2021/953 of the European Parliament and of the Council ( OJ L 277, 2.8.2021, p. 148 ).

32021 D 1273 : Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2021/1273 of 30 July 2021 establishing the equivalence, for the purpose of facilitating the right of free movement within the Union, of COVID-19 certificates issued by San Marino to the certificates issued in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2021/953 of the European Parliament and of the Council ( OJ L 277, 2.8.2021, p. 151 ).’

Article 2

The following points are inserted after point 11b (Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2021/1126) of Annex VIII to the EEA Agreement:

Article 3

The texts of Implementing Decisions (EU) 2021/1272 and (EU) 2021/1273 in the Icelandic and Norwegian languages, to be published in the EEA Supplement to the Official Journal of the European Union , shall be authentic.

Article 4

This Decision shall enter into force on 25 September 2021, provided that all the notifications under Article 103(1) of the EEA Agreement have been made ( *1 ) .

Article 5

This Decision shall be published in the EEA Section of, and in the EEA Supplement to, the Official Journal of the European Union .
