DECISION OF THE EEA JOJINT COMMITTEE No 254/2021

amending Annex XIII (Transport) to the EEA Agreement [2024/472]

THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE,

Having regard to the Agreement on the European Economic Area (‘the EEA Agreement’), and in particular Article 98 thereof,

Whereas:

(1) Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2020/778 of 12 June 2020 amending Implementing Regulation (EU) 2019/773 as regards the dates of application following the extension of the transposition deadline of Directive (EU) 2016/797 of the European Parliament and of the Council ( 1 ) is to be incorporated into the EEA Agreement.

(2) Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2020/779 of 12 June 2020 amending Implementing Regulation (EU) 2019/250 as regards the dates of application following the extension of the transposition deadline of Directive (EU) 2016/797 of the European Parliament and of the Council ( 2 ) is to be incorporated into the EEA Agreement.

(3) Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2020/780 of 12 June 2020 amending Regulation (EU) No 445/2011 and Implementing Regulation (EU) 2019/779 as regards measures to extend the validity of certain certificates of rail entities in charge of maintenance and certain transitional provisions due to the COVID-19 pandemic ( 3 ) is to be incorporated into the EEA Agreement.

(4) Annex XIII to the EEA Agreement should therefore be amended accordingly,

HAS ADOPTED THIS DECISION:

Article 1

Annex XIII to the EEA Agreement shall be amended as follows:

The following is added in point 37pc (Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2019/250):

‘, as amended by:

— 32020 R 0779 : Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2020/779 of 12 June 2020 ( OJ L 188, 15.6.2020, p. 6 ).’

The following is added in point 37pd (Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2019/773):

‘, as amended by:

— 32020 R 0778 : Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2020/778 of 12 June 2020 ( OJ L 188, 15.6.2020, p. 4 ).’

The following is added in point 42id (Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2019/779):

‘, as amended by:

— 32020 R 0780 : Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2020/780 of 12 June 2020 ( OJ L 188, 15.6.2020, p. 8 ).’

Article 2

The texts of Implementing Regulations (EU) 2020/778, (EU) 2020/779 and (EU) 2020/780 in the Icelandic and Norwegian languages, to be published in the EEA Supplement to the Official Journal of the European Union , shall be authentic.

Article 3

This Decision shall enter into force on 25 September 2021, provided that all the notifications under Article 103(1) of the EEA Agreement have been made ( *1 ) , or on the day of the entry into force of Decision of the EEA Joint Committee No 248/2021 of 24 September 2021 ( 4 ) , whichever is the later.

Article 4

This Decision shall be published in the EEA Section of, and in the EEA Supplement to, the Official Journal of the European Union .
