DECISION OF THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE No 298/2021

of 29 October 2021

amending Annex V (Free movement of workers) and Annex VIII (Right of establishment) to the EEA Agreement [2024/559]

THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE,

Having regard to the Agreement on the European Economic Area (“the EEA Agreement”), and in particular Article 98 thereof,

Whereas:

(1) Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2021/1476 of 14 September 2021 establishing the equivalence, for the purpose of facilitating the right of free movement within the Union, of COVID-19 certificates issued by Andorra to the certificates issued in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2021/953 of the European Parliament and of the Council ( 1 ) is to be incorporated into the EEA Agreement.

(2) Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2021/1477 of 14 September 2021 establishing the equivalence, for the purpose of facilitating the right of free movement within the Union, of COVID-19 certificates issued by the Republic of Albania to the certificates issued in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2021/953 of the European Parliament and of the Council ( 2 ) is to be incorporated into the EEA Agreement.

(3) Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2021/1478 of 14 September 2021 establishing the equivalence, for the purpose of facilitating the right of free movement within the Union, of COVID-19 certificates issued by the Faroe Islands to the certificates issued in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2021/953 of the European Parliament and of the Council ( 3 ) is to be incorporated into the EEA Agreement.

(4) Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2021/1479 of 14 September 2021 establishing the equivalence, for the purpose of facilitating the right of free movement within the Union, of COVID-19 certificates issued by Monaco to the certificates issued in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2021/953 of the European Parliament and of the Council ( 4 ) is to be incorporated into the EEA Agreement.

(5) Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2021/1480 of 14 September 2021 establishing the equivalence, for the purpose of facilitating the right of free movement within the Union, of COVID-19 certificates issued by the Republic of Panama to the certificates issued in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2021/953 of the European Parliament and of the Council ( 5 ) is to be incorporated into the EEA Agreement.

(6) Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2021/1481 of 14 September 2021 establishing the equivalence, for the purpose of facilitating the right of free movement within the Union, of COVID-19 certificates issued by the Kingdom of Morocco to the certificates issued in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2021/953 of the European Parliament and of the Council ( 6 ) is to be incorporated into the EEA Agreement.

(7) Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2021/1482 of 14 September 2021 establishing the equivalence, for the purpose of facilitating the right of free movement within the Union, of COVID-19 certificates issued by the State of Israel to the certificates issued in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2021/953 of the European Parliament and of the Council ( 7 ) is to be incorporated into the EEA Agreement.

(8) Annexes V and VIII to the EEA Agreement should therefore be amended accordingly,

HAS ADOPTED THIS DECISION:

Article 1

The following points are inserted after point 10g (Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2021/1382) of Annex V to the EEA Agreement:

32021 D 1476 : Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2021/1476 of 14 September 2021 establishing the equivalence, for the purpose of facilitating the right of free movement within the Union, of COVID-19 certificates issued by Andorra to the certificates issued in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2021/953 of the European Parliament and of the Council ( OJ L 325, 15.9.2021, p. 33 ).

32021 D 1477 : Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2021/1477 of 14 September 2021 establishing the equivalence, for the purpose of facilitating the right of free movement within the Union, of COVID-19 certificates issued by the Republic of Albania to the certificates issued in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2021/953 of the European Parliament and of the Council ( OJ L 325, 15.9.2021, p. 36 ).

32021 D 1478 : Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2021/1478 of 14 September 2021 establishing the equivalence, for the purpose of facilitating the right of free movement within the Union, of COVID-19 certificates issued by the Faroe Islands to the certificates issued in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2021/953 of the European Parliament and of the Council ( OJ L 325, 15.9.2021, p. 39 ).

32021 D 1479 : Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2021/1479 of 14 September 2021 establishing the equivalence, for the purpose of facilitating the right of free movement within the Union, of COVID-19 certificates issued by Monaco to the certificates issued in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2021/953 of the European Parliament and of the Council ( OJ L 325, 15.9.2021, p. 42 ).

32021 D 1480 : Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2021/1480 of 14 September 2021 establishing the equivalence, for the purpose of facilitating the right of free movement within the Union, of COVID-19 certificates issued by the Republic of Panama to the certificates issued in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2021/953 of the European Parliament and of the Council ( OJ L 325, 15.9.2021, p. 45 ).

32021 D 1481 : Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2021/1481 of 14 September 2021 establishing the equivalence, for the purpose of facilitating the right of free movement within the Union, of COVID-19 certificates issued by the Kingdom of Morocco to the certificates issued in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2021/953 of the European Parliament and of the Council ( OJ L 325, 15.9.2021, p. 48 ).

32021 D 1482 : Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2021/1482 of 14 September 2021 establishing the equivalence, for the purpose of facilitating the right of free movement within the Union, of COVID-19 certificates issued by the State of Israel to the certificates issued in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2021/953 of the European Parliament and of the Council ( OJ L 325, 15.9.2021, p. 51 ).’

Article 2

The following points are inserted after point 11g (Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2021/1382) of Annex VIII to the EEA Agreement:

Article 3

The texts of Commission Implementing Decisions (EU) 2021/1476, (EU) 2021/1477, (EU) 2021/1478, (EU) 2021/1479, (EU) 2021/1480, (EU) 2021/1481 and (EU) 2021/1482 in the Icelandic and Norwegian languages, to be published in the EEA Supplement to the Official Journal of the European Union , shall be authentic.

Article 4

This Decision shall enter into force on 30 October 2021, provided that all the notifications under Article 103(1) of the EEA Agreement have been made ( *1 ) .

Article 5

This Decision shall be published in the EEA Section of, and in the EEA Supplement to, the Official Journal of the European Union .
