    AGREEMENT

    in the form of an exchange of letters amending Table II annexed to Protocol 2 of the Agreement between the European Economic Community and the Swiss Confederation

    Sir,
    The exchanges of letters of 4 and 5 February 1981 between the European Economic Community and the Swiss Confederation regarding processed agricultural products require certain amendments to be made to Table II annexed to Protocol 2 of the Agreement between the Swiss Confederation and the European Economic Community signed on 22 July 1972,
    These amendments, featured in the Annex hereto, have in fact already been agreed to by the exchanges of letters mentioned above and, therefore, their incorporation in Table II of Protocol 2 is only a formal matter.
    I have the honour to confirm to you the agreement of my Government to these amendments. I should be grateful if you would confirm that the Community is in agreement with the above.

    (1)  On products containing alcohol the charges are those imposed by Swiss customs legislation on alcohol.
    (2)  Until further notice, Switzerland will levy a standard duty of Sw F 47,50 instead of the variable component.
    (3)  Description applicable from 1 September 1981.
    (4)  Until further notice, Switzerland will levy a standard duty of Sw F 100 instead of the variable component. The standard duty will be reduced to Sw F 90 when the sale of ice-cream incorporating vegetable fats is authorized throughout the Community.
