DECISION No 3/2020 OF THE ACP-EU COMMITTEE OF AMBASSADORS

of 22 December 2020

extending the mandate of the members of the Executive Board of the Technical Centre for Agricultural and Rural Cooperation (CTA) [2021/20]

THE ACP-EU COMMITTEE OF AMBASSADORS,
Having regard to the Partnership Agreement between the members of the African, Caribbean and Pacific Group of States of the one part, and the European Community and its Member States, of the other part  ( 1 ) , and in particular Article 2(5) of Annex III thereof,
Having regard to Decision No 5/2013 of the ACP-EU Committee of Ambassadors of 7 November 2013 on the Statutes of the Technical Centre for Agricultural and Rural Cooperation (CTA)  ( 2 ) , and in particular Articles 5(4) of the Annex thereof;
Whereas:
(1) Article 5(4) of the Statutes of the CTA provides that the members of the Executive Board of the Technical Centre for Agricultural and Rural Cooperation (CTA) shall be appointed by the ACP-EU Committee of Ambassadors in accordance with the procedures laid down by the Committee for a period of up to five years, subject to a mid-term review.
(2) In accordance with its Article 95(1), the ACP-EU Partnership Agreement was to expire on 29 February 2020.
(3) In accordance with Decision No 3/2019 of the ACP-EU Committee of Ambassadors of 17 December 2019 to adopt transitional measures pursuant to Article 95(4) of the ACP-EU Partnership Agreement  ( 3 ) , the application of the provisions of the ACP-EU Partnership Agreement was extended until 31 December 2020, or until the entry into force of the new Agreement or until the provisional application between the Union and the ACP States of the new Agreement, whichever comes first.
(4) In accordance with Decision No 1/2020 of the ACP-EU Committee of Ambassadors of 24 February 2020 appointing the members of the Executive Board and the Director of the Technical Centre for Agricultural and Rural Cooperation (CTA)  ( 4 ) , the mandate of the members of the Executive Board expires on 31 December 2020.
(5) In accordance with Decision No 2/2020 of the ACP-EU Committee of Ambassadors of 4 December 2020 to amend Decision No 3/2019 of the ACP-EU Committee of Ambassadors to adopt transitional measures pursuant to Article 95(4) of the ACP-EU Partnership Agreement  ( 5 ) , the application of the provisions of the ACP-EU Partnership Agreement was extended until 30 November 2021, or until the entry into force of the new Agreement or until the provisional application between the Union and the ACP States of the new Agreement, whichever comes first.
(6) The mandate of the members of the Executive Board of the CTA should be extended,
HAS DECIDED AS FOLLOWS:

Article 1

Without prejudice to any subsequent decisions that the ACP-EU Committee of Ambassadors might have to take in the framework of its prerogatives, the mandate of the following persons as members of the Executive Board of the CTA is hereby extended until 30 November 2021:
— Prof. Augusto Manuel CORREIA,
— Mr David HUNTER,
— Ms Helena JOHANSSON,
— Mr Abel KPAWILINA-NAMKOISSE,
— Dr Boitshoko NTSHABELE, and
— Ms Frederike PRAASTERINK.

Article 2

This Decision shall enter into force on the date of its adoption.
