DECISION OF THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE No 45/2022

amending Annex V (Free movement of workers) and Annex VIII (Right of establishment) to the EEA Agreement [2022/1113]

THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE,

Having regard to the Agreement on the European Economic Area (‘the EEA Agreement’), and in particular Article 98 thereof,

Whereas:

(1) Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2021/2296 of 21 December 2021 establishing the equivalence, for the purpose of facilitating the right of free movement within the Union, of COVID-19 certificates issued by the Republic of Tunisia to the certificates issued in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2021/953 of the European Parliament and of the Council ( 1 ) is to be incorporated into the EEA Agreement.

(2) Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2021/2297 of 21 December 2021 establishing the equivalence, for the purpose of facilitating the right of free movement within the Union, of COVID-19 certificates issued by Montenegro to the certificates issued in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2021/953 of the European Parliament and of the Council ( 2 ) is to be incorporated into the EEA Agreement.

(3) Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2021/2298 of 21 December 2021 establishing the equivalence, for the purpose of facilitating the right of free movement within the Union, of COVID-19 certificates issued by the Eastern Republic of Uruguay to the certificates issued in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2021/953 of the European Parliament and of the Council ( 3 ) is to be incorporated into the EEA Agreement.

(4) Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2021/2299 of 21 December 2021 establishing the equivalence, for the purpose of facilitating the right of free movement within the Union, of COVID-19 certificates issued by Thailand to the certificates issued in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2021/953 of the European Parliament and of the Council ( 4 ) is to be incorporated into the EEA Agreement.

(5) Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2021/2300 of 21 December 2021 establishing the equivalence, for the purpose of facilitating the right of free movement within the Union, of COVID-19 certificates issued by Taiwan to the certificates issued in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2021/953 of the European Parliament and of the Council ( 5 ) is to be incorporated into the EEA Agreement.

(6) Annexes V and VIII to the EEA Agreement should therefore be amended accordingly,

HAS ADOPTED THIS DECISION:

Article 1

The following points are inserted after point 10z (Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2021/2189) of Annex V to the EEA Agreement:

Article 2

The following points are inserted after point 11z (Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2021/2189) of Annex VIII to the EEA Agreement:

Article 3

The texts of Implementing Decisions (EU) 2021/2296, (EU) 2021/2297, (EU) 2021/2298, (EU) 2021/2299, (EU) 2021/2300 in the Icelandic and Norwegian languages, to be published in the EEA Supplement to the Official Journal of the European Union , shall be authentic.

Article 4

This Decision shall enter into force on 23 February 2022, provided that all the notifications under Article 103(1) of the EEA Agreement have been made ( * ) .

Article 5

This Decision shall be published in the EEA Section of, and in the EEA Supplement to, the Official Journal of the European Union .
