DECISION OF THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE No 58/2022

amending Annex II (Technical Regulations, Standards, Testing and Certification) to the EEA Agreement [2022/1126]

THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE,

Having regard to the Agreement on the European Economic Area (‘the EEA Agreement’), and in particular Article 98 thereof,

Whereas:

(1) Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2021/1243 of 19 April 2021 supplementing Regulation (EU) 2019/2144 of the European Parliament and of the Council by laying down detailed rules concerning the alcohol interlock installation facilitation in motor vehicles and amending Annex II to that Regulation  ( 1 ) is to be incorporated into the EEA Agreement.

(2) Annex II to the EEA Agreement should therefore be amended accordingly,

HAS ADOPTED THIS DECISION:

Article 1

Chapter I of Annex II to the EEA Agreement shall be amended as follows:

(1) the following is added in point 52 (Regulation (EU) 2019/2144 of the European Parliament and of the Council):

‘, as amended by:

— 32021 R 1243 : Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2021/1243 of 19 April 2021 ( OJ L 272, 30.7.2021, p. 11 ).’;

(2) the following point is inserted after point 52b (Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2021/646):

‘52c.

32021 R 1243 : Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2021/1243 of 19 April 2021 supplementing Regulation (EU) 2019/2144 of the European Parliament and of the Council by laying down detailed rules concerning the alcohol interlock installation facilitation in motor vehicles and amending Annex II to that Regulation ( OJ L 272, 30.7.2021, p. 11 ).’.

Article 2

The text of Delegated Regulation (EU) 2021/1243 in the Icelandic and Norwegian languages, to be published in the EEA Supplement to the Official Journal of the European Union , shall be authentic.

Article 3

This Decision shall enter into force on 19 March 2022, provided that all the notifications under Article 103(1) of the EEA Agreement have been made  ( * ) , or on the day of the entry into force of Decision of the EEA Joint Committee No 55/2022 of 18 March 2022  ( 2 ) , whichever is the later.

Article 4

This Decision shall be published in the EEA Section of, and in the EEA Supplement to, the Official Journal of the European Union .
