DECISION OF THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE No 198/2022

amending Annex XX (Environment) to the EEA Agreement [2022/1898]

THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE,

Having regard to the Agreement on the European Economic Area (‘the EEA Agreement’), and in particular Article 98 thereof,

Whereas:

(1)

Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2019/1859 of 6 November 2019 laying down rules for the application of Article 10 of Regulation (EU) 2019/1242 of the European Parliament and of the Council as regards the collection of certain data ( 1 ) is to be incorporated into the EEA Agreement.

(2)

Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2022/96 of 25 January 2022 amending Implementing Regulation (EU) 2019/1859 laying down rules for the application of Article 10 of Regulation (EU) 2019/1242 of the European Parliament and of the Council as regards the collection of certain data ( 2 ) is to be incorporated into the EEA Agreement.

By virtue of Decision of the EEA Joint Committee No 398/2021 of 10 December 2021 ( 3 ) , Commission Implementing Regulations (EU) 2019/1859 and (EU) 2022/96 do not apply to Liechtenstein.

(4)

Annex XX to the EEA Agreement should therefore be amended accordingly,

HAS ADOPTED THIS DECISION:

Article 1

The following point is inserted after point 21azkaa (Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2021/781) of Annex XX to the EEA Agreement:

‘21azkaaa.

32019 R 1859 : Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2019/1859 of 6 November 2019 laying down rules for the application of Article 10 of Regulation (EU) 2019/1242 of the European Parliament and of the Council as regards the collection of certain data ( OJ L 286, 7.11.2019, p. 10 ), as amended by:

Article 2

The texts of Implementing Regulations (EU) 2019/1859 and (EU) 2022/96 in the Icelandic and Norwegian languages, to be published in the EEA Supplement to the Official Journal of the European Union , shall be authentic.

Article 3

This Decision shall enter into force on 11 June 2022, provided that all the notifications under Article 103(1) of the EEA Agreement have been made ( * ) , or on the day of the entry into force of Decision of the EEA Joint Committee No 398/2021, whichever is the later.

Article 4

This Decision shall be published in the EEA Section of, and in the EEA Supplement to, the Official Journal of the European Union .
