DECISION OF THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE No 202/2022

of 8 July 2022

amending Annex I (Veterinary and phytosanitary matters) to the EEA Agreement [2023/619]

THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE,
Having regard to the Agreement on the European Economic Area (“the EEA Agreement”), and in particular Article 98 thereof,
Whereas:
(1) Commission Regulation (EU) 2022/175 of 9 February 2022 amending Annex IX to Regulation (EC) No 999/2001 of the European Parliament and of the Council as regards import conditions for movements of ovine and caprine animals intended for breeding from Great Britain into Northern Ireland  ( 1 ) is to be incorporated into the EEA Agreement.
(2) Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2022/214 of 17 February 2022 amending certain Annexes to Implementing Regulation (EU) 2021/620 as regards the approval or withdrawal of the disease-free status of certain Member States or zones or compartments thereof as regards certain listed diseases and the approval of eradication programmes for certain listed diseases  ( 2 ) is to be incorporated into the EEA Agreement.
(3) Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2022/181 of 9 February 2022 amending Implementing Decision (EU) 2021/260 as regards certain movements between Member States or parts thereof of aquatic animals subject to national measures and Annex I thereto as regards the disease status of Ireland in respect of Ostreid herpesvirus-1μvar (OsHV-1μvar)  ( 3 ) is to be incorporated into the EEA Agreement.
(4) This Decision concerns, inter alia, legislation regarding live animals other than fish and aquaculture animals. Legislation concerning these matters shall not apply to Iceland, as specified in paragraph 2 of the Introductory Part of Chapter I of Annex I to the EEA Agreement.
(5) This Decision concerns legislation regarding veterinary matters. Legislation regarding veterinary matters shall not apply to Liechtenstein as long as the application of the Agreement between the European Community and the Swiss Confederation on trade in agricultural products is extended to Liechtenstein, as specified in the sectoral adaptations to Annex I to the EEA Agreement. This Decision is therefore not to apply to Liechtenstein.
(6) Annex I to the EEA Agreement should therefore be amended accordingly,
HAS ADOPTED THIS DECISION:

Article 1

Chapter I of Annex I to the EEA Agreement shall be amended as follows:

The following is added in point 13o (Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2021/260) in Part 1.1:

The following indent is added in point 13r (Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2021/620) in Part 1.1:

32022 R 0214 : Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2022/214 of 17 February 2022 ( OJ L 37, 18.2.2022, p. 16 ).’
3.
The following indent is added in point 12 (Regulation (EC) No 999/2001 of the European Parliament and of the Council) in Part 7.1:

32022 R 0175 : Commission Regulation (EU) 2022/175 of 9 February 2022 ( OJ L 29, 10.2.2022, p. 1 ).’

Article 2

The texts of Regulation (EU) 2022/175 in the Norwegian language and Implementing Regulation (EU) 2022/214 and Implementing Decision (EU) 2022/181 in the Icelandic and Norwegian languages, to be published in the EEA Supplement to the Official Journal of the European Union , shall be authentic.

Article 3

This Decision shall enter into force on 9 July 2022, provided that all the notifications under Article 103(1) of the EEA Agreement have been made  ( * ) .

Article 4

This Decision shall be published in the EEA Section of, and in the EEA Supplement to, the Official Journal of the European Union .
