§ 7911 - Definitions

CHAPTER 98— SPORTSMEN’S ACCESS TO FEDERAL LAND › SUBCHAPTER II— SPORTSMEN’S ACCESS TO FEDERAL LAND

In this subchapter:

(1) The term “Federal land” means—

(1)(A) any land in the National Forest System (as defined in section 1609(a) of this title) that is administered by the Secretary of Agriculture, acting through the Chief of the Forest Service; and

(1)(B) public lands (as defined in section 1702 of title 43), the surface of which is administered by the Secretary, acting through the Director of the Bureau of Land Management.

(2) The term “Secretary concerned” means—

(2)(A) the Secretary of Agriculture, with respect to land described in paragraph (1)(A); and

(2)(B) the Secretary, with respect to land described in paragraph (1)(B).

Definition of “Secretary”

Secretary means the Secretary of the Interior, see section 2 of Pub. L. 116–9, set out as a note under section 1 of this title.
